Amazing... again we haven't been blogging.. haha...

Another milestone of ours... 3 years into our marriage.

There are many many things to give thanks....

Thank God for giving us; strength when we are tired, patience when we are angry, comfort when we are upset, provision when we are dry, wisdom when we need to make decision, love when we starts getting on each others' nerves, a place that we can call our own, friends around us to give us the support when we need help... many many more... Thank God for the past 9 years of togetherness.

This year we didn't really celebrate our anniversary, becos we are really broke! haha.. the renovation and expenses for holiday... have drained us... But no worries, we don't have to eat wind or grass yet... :p

It's been a long while

Dear Friends,

If you have been reading our blog, we want to apologise for not updating... Have been so busy with our new home and all. Haven't got much time to blog. :p (excuses excuses I know...)

Anyway, our home is almost ready, in another week we would be able to start unpacking some little things in the house, and buying more things to put in. haha... it would also means we are gonna be so broke!!

Would like to give thanks to God for His blessings and guidance through this time of renovation..
it have been a tough one for us, though many people tells us to enjoy the process... think I (Noelle) am just not the relax kind.. :p

Thanksgiving:
Thank God for...
1) providing us with a house, that we can now start making it our home.

2) allowing us to get our renovation fees at about S$30K (within our budget)

3) giving us wisdom to know how to handle our contractor and her workers

4) though some things aren't what we expected, managed to get the things all worked out

5) enabling me to notice the mistakes and rectify the problem (kitchen tap was sent wrongly, storage heater too big etc)

6) giving me the patience to handle the contractor

7) blessing us with brothers and sisters to help out with moving my stuffs from my parents' to our new place

8) blessing us with brothers and sisters who loves us and giving us gifts for the house.

9) blessing us with love from brothers and sisters and friends, that supported me through the month without Maverick in Singapore, handling the renovation matters.

10) least but not least, blessing the love between us, that we are able to support each other's ideas for the house. :)

Thank you Lord for being such a wonderful GOD!

Flying off again

Its been so long since we last update our blog... have been busy with life ! :)

With our new home on the way, hopefully by April we would get our keys, and preparing the renovation and all... busy busy busy....

Anyway, now we are at the airport waiting to fly once again! This time to KL for a dear friend's wedding! So excited! :) I can't wait to attend the wedding tomorrow.

Pray that I will be diligent to post up the photos and updates! :)

Singapore Flyer trip with family

Went to experience the Singapore Flyer with Noelle's parent and one of her sister, Ying Ying.
Not really that fantastic... for 30 mins you are staring at the same view... hehe.. don't really enjoy it... but at least experienced it for once! And we had a great time with our love ones~ ;) We definitely had a great dinner at Marina Square! Anyway, pictures speaks louder than words..

Coming to the end of the degree

Sorry friends who are reading our blog, I (Noelle) haven't been able to update anything the last few months, as it was the last lap of my bachelor degree... This last term was real hectic!! Having to complete 22 400-words essays and a 2000-words essay, comprises 70% of the module marks! Gosh! The no. of late nights and burnt weekends.. of cos I don't deny that I slack a bit in the beginning ... haha... Finally it was over on the 30th Aug... but still have exam on the 20th Sept... :P Pray that I won't slack with my revision! hahaha..

Will be taking a little break this weekend to KL (yes , KL again).. cos it's near and cheap!! ;P Anyway, going to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary too!! How time flies!! Really thank God for pulling us through these two years, a lot of times I think I was on the nerves of Maverick especially when I am so stressed out with my assignments and revisions... Hope that this little break can refresh the both of us!

After the exam, will be the planning of our trip with my family to UK!! For my youngest sis' graduation!!! We will be away from 13th to 23rd Oct!

And after that... planning for our home! We are praying that the house will be here next year, but yet at the same time worrying about the financial issues of the renovation.. headache... anyone got any lobang for renov? Not too ex one oh! haha...

Lots of events awaiting for us... but all are exciting ones.... no more exams, assignments, deadlines... hahahahaha...

Maverick is also focusing more on his little business online and in his dad's shop... Praying that if it's what God wants him to focus on then we will be able to hear Him correctly.

Life is back to routine lately... Work, School, Home, Sleep and it repeats....

There were times of arguments, times of celebrations, time of fun and time of silence... :)

Some events:
1) Ying Ying's back! (Noelle's youngest sis) And they have been shopping and spending quite a bit of money! hahaha...

2) Diane, Noelle's friend, is in Singapore now too. Here to study for 3 years, and Noelle is super excited about it! ;) Though not very excited when her flight got delayed, and Noelle waited for her at the airport till almost 12 midnight! SIA flight.. haiz...

3) Noelle is back in school for her last module, last lap, but she is slacking real bad!! hahahaha... Thank God that it's a Monday class!

4) Maverick and Noelle attended Church Camp from 13-16 June, and though busy but they had a load of fun!! And fed by God! ;)

5) Celebrated Noelle's 29th Birthday, and their 1 year 10th month wedding anniversary in the month of July! haha... Birthday Celebration in KTV! And anniversary celebrated with the church camp committee thanksgiving party! ;D

6) This coming Sat, cell group's parents outing! Praying for good weather and a great time together with all our parents!

Last weekend was like crazy for Mave and Noelle.... Schedule was back to back.. attended two weddings, one in Singapore and another in JB... Below are the photos.. dun have to say much bah... :) We checked in to the hotel beside the convention hall (where the wedding was held in JB) in the afternoon, so that we don't have to travel back to Singapore at night. ;)

A trip to Ko SaMui (16th - 19th Jan 2010)

Time for a short trip again!!! hehe.... This time round we "FLY"... Went to Ko Samui , an island of Thailand... Intended to snorkel, kayak, sun tan at the beach and revise for my exam on the 22nd Jan.. hehe...

Waiting to board the plane... quite bored.. cos it's 8pm and it's still not allowing us to board... Flight delayed...

Finally reached the hotel!! It's not a very fanciful hotel, but the service is not bad... they had the towels all made into a little towel Elephant!!! So cute!

Morning breakfast, had a little trip to the beach...then realised that we have nothing much to do today cos we need to book the "One day Tour" at least a day earlier... so only on Sunday then we get to go out to sea... so walked around the area, went all the way to Lotus shopping mall, that took us 1.5hr walk... IN THE SUN! The stubborn us, refused to take the cab even though we were advised to do so by the locals... 3 of them have warned us, but we are just stubborn.. what to do? haiz...

Hi all,

Sorry I have been lazy to write lately.. hehe.. assignments and exams round the corner with lots of things to prepare for church camp... so this is my least priority! Anyway, I can hardly remember what has been going on, except the latest news.. tomorrow is Noelle's dad's birthday!! haha.. his 60th birthday! And he got baptised on Easter Sunday!!!
We celebrated in advance, as Noelle has class tomorrow... and on Saturday, daddy wanted to go down to pay our respects to our grandparents. Thus cannot really eat out (there will be lots of food at home), but intended to have a little birthday cake and song for daddy! :)

Last Sunday, brought him to Soup Restaurant for a fantastic meal! Waiting outside the restaurant

This is the very first time he did not resist us bringing him to a restaurant! He always say that it's too expensive, eat at home better... so this time he agreed!!! Yeah! This is also his first birthday celebration as a Christian! :)

As of yesterday, we are married for 1year 4th month!! We decided to treat ourselves with Tony Roma's Ribs!! haha... also because we have a $40 voucher lah.. if not we

won't go there..(But mind you, $40 is not enough to cover half the cost!! It's so ex! But nice!)

We ordered a combo meal each, in the end we think it's enough to feed 3 !! By the end of the

meal, both of us felt a few kgs heavier! If you ordered the Ribs with steak , you might find it t

oo meaty.. half way through Maverick finds it the meat too much to take.. but cannot waste money, so he still finishes it! haha..

Sorry for being late again.. hehehe... so many things to prepare for Christmas and New Year after my last lesson, thus no time to blog.. or too tired to blog when I am free.. :p

Christmas and Watchnight service have been great!! Thank God for the year that has passed, and the new year ahead.. We are sure God has His perfect plans for us! :)

Hi hi...

Again I didn't blog for the whole month.. sorry... have been fighting battles at work thus no time to really blog, when I reached home, I hardly want to touch my laptop...

Anyway, Noelle have got her new schedule for class!! haha... Want to Thank God that this time round only one or two fridays are affected... meaning.. I can attend cell group! Yeah!!

This term, it's more relax the first two months, cos only one module: Classes on Thursday. But in December, the other module will start and it will be a crush course. (Cos the few of us wrote in to complain the lecturer who is suppose to be teaching, he really cannot make it. So now the school will be getting the lecturer from Australia to teach instead. That's why it's a crush course)

From 30 Nov - 4 Dec, every day got lessons another two more week days there will be classes as well. ALL Sat in December will all have lessons, 2-9pm.. wohoo... so Dec basically I am packed to the rim until 23rd! Christmas Eve! Thank God they are nice... so Christmas onwards no more class, and Jan 2010 exams!

Now I am waiting for my results for last term.. really hope that I can at least pass the one that is taught by the lousy lecturer.... haiz....

Can't wait for Sept 2010 to come ... graduation!

KL Trip 1-5 Oct 2009

Our KL trip, sorry this came so late, cos my internet have been down.. so irritating....

This time round the trip was a relaxing one, we purposely arrange to travel in on Thursday and out on Monday, so that we won't have jam at the custom. :) Yeah!!!

We went back to the same few places to shop, and eat... :) One new place we explore, MidValley Mega Mall..took the monorail and change KL Komuter... Which is kinda of a old fashion railway train! haha.. interesting, but the wait was long... let the pictures tell the story...

One of the nights, we were woken up by a series of loud banging sounds.. Thought it was some shoting going on... but it's just fire works for Lantern Festival.. haiz.. middle of the night at 3am.. siow one...

Actually nothing much as of now..

Ying Ying, Noelle's sister, is back for a month holiday, thus Noelle is trying to spend some time with her.. go shopping, squash, lazing at home doing nothing... :)

It's also the study period for Noelle before her exam on 25th and 28th Sept.. but she has totally no mood to study!! haha.. this term really slacking.... Maverick has been nagging and nagging at her..

A friend with her parents, from Shanghai, came to visit this week, thus Noelle is also busy trying to be host for them... Cos it's quite last min notice, thus Noelle couldn't apply for leave to bring them round, so hopefully can meet them up for a while during the Public Holiday.. :P

Lately Maverick have been pondering if he should continue working in this current company.. please pray for us okay? :) Noelle also thinking what to do next after graduation next year Sept...

1st - 5th October, Maverick and Noelle will be heading to KL again!! hahahaha... they are intending to go there to get some stuffs, for CG's caroling (if have), for Maverick's dad's shop.... And Christmas gifts if they can find any..

Our first anniversary!

Today's our 1st Wedding anniversary!! The first milestone of the marriage! :)

Thank God for bringing us through this year, have been really an amazing year.. busy with getting to know more about each other and adapting to each other's habits... Thank God for providing us with love and patience! :)

Friday, Maverick sent a bouquet of flowers to my office, it was really a big surprise.. cos I was so busy with my final assignment the night before... and only slept at 4am.. so total blur and tired.. his flowers brighten up my day! ;) It is a real great surprise! :)

So I decided to bring him to have a nice meal on Sunday(today).. So while surfing the net, I read on Lawrence and Adeline's blog, the Vanilla Pod looks really great! So I got some info from Lawrence and made a reservation..

I didn't tell Mave where we are going... and just told him Mandai! I made an arrangement to eat with Ah Meng's descendants... (Ah Meng died liao mah.. so eat with her children lor.. ) haha...

The place is really nice.. lots of beautiful orchids, as it's in Mandai Orchid Garden... food is okay.. had a lamb shack~ that costs me $38!! Not as nice as expected though.. still good lah.. then he had Linguine Aglio-olio.. that is nice!! With lots of big chucky mushrooms.. he loves them! The desert.. YUM!! :) After lunch, we went to walk walk in the garden before heading home. :)

Long Overdue post! :p This trip was in June...

Finally my exams are over, for the first term, and Maverick and I managed to get away with a short holiday to KL.

Basically just sleep, eat, shop n shop!!! haha..

Anyway, Maverick bought me to a FINE DINING restaurant for dinner!!! *gasp* So nice!!! The place is called "The Chalk". It's up the "mountain" called Mount Sophia... climbed up 100 over steps before we can get to eat! haha... (check out my facebook for more pics)

The place has very nice ambience... and the diners are all quieter than all other restaurants! haha... The food there quite unique taste... I can't say I will go "WOW" kind, cos not really normal kind of nice... it's erm.. how should I put it... just very unique... Not saying I don't like, I love it... so nice and not unhealthy... : )

Sorry I haven't been blogging.. actually don't know what to blog, life have been a routine...
work --> School --> Home --> Church

Now my classes are on Wednesday and Friday! yes Friday!!!! Goodness sake! Why???!!! For the next 4 months, I will be missing Cell Group and Prayer meetings that are held on Friday!! The week will seem longer to me.... sad case...

Updates?... We put on a few more kgs again!! haha... too stress, so ate too much chocolates and ice creams!! hehe....:p

Anyway, 2 weeks ago, Maverick and I went for a little trip to KL!! Yes again! haha... went there once again to have a little break and shopping, before I start my class all over again. Sorry I don't have time to load the photos on blogger, very slow... so I loaded it up on my facebook! hehe... 忙忙忙。。。BUSY

Its been crazy!! Like I mentioned before, Noelle's starting class... thus it's so busy there's no time for most of my things!!

Since I started lesson, every week there's one presentation!! All my weekend burnt!!

Even when Maverick and I went to the IT fair, I was doing my homework!!!! Weekday nights are basically gone... lots of time I have to stay up late to do my work, sleeps at 2-3am.. now I am like a little panda bear... Maverick was busy at work, he have to bring work home some more... he too did not sleep much.. and very very stressed....

Last Saturday, both of us decides to take a little break... don't do homework or work related stuffs.. Wanted to laze and sleep till 9plus... but by 8.30am we were SHOCKED awaken by the driling of the construction outside our window!!! They were working on the lift! So idiotic!! I put on the ear plugs and slept till 10am.. haha... Then we went for breakfast at Chong Pang.. met my beloved dad!! hehe... miss him so much...

And then headed home to change, and hurry out... cos the noise is deafening!! I treated Maverick lunch at Double Bay!! hehe... it's at Raffle City Shopping Center, not inside, but outside the shopping mall.. nice food, but a bit big the portion.. think because I wasn't hungry, so couldn't really finish the food... will load the pics when I have it...

After a nice lunch, we headed down to Toy 'R' us!!! haha.. Mave's fav!! walked around and got some stuffs... then went to Carrefour!! OUR fav place! haha.. we very uncle auntie hor? hehe..

Shopped there for 2 hours... I think... After that we had a cup of coffee and dinner at AH WANG CAFE.. not nice!! :S

After that we are too lazy .. took a cab back to my parent's place! haha...

Since I started school, this is the best weekend! :) And yesterday, the stress began... all over again....

A little sneak on serena's baby shower!! We bought gifts for her twins!! And wrote cards for Yisi and Serena!!!

This is a little sneak of Theresa's celebration! We gave a her a little sweet surprise!! Our 6th month anniversary! haha.. Married for 6 months.. seems like 6 years... we won't get to celebrate like we used to now, cos lately we have been so busy...

Lately have been so busy with projects and homework till I have no time to blog... if you notice, this is only blogged by Noelle... ;)

Cos Maverick is busier! Busy at work, Shell is a busy place! And busy with William and Theresa's wedding... Busy with getting well.. he keeps falling sick lately, poor thing...

Haha.. Now, William and Theresa are happliy married.. honeymooning now... :p

Wow! Finally it's 5 months already!! Times seems to crawl when I count the days of our marriage.. haha... maybe because I am really looking forward to the day we have our own home... Not that living with my in-laws are very difficult, just that there's not much time we can have together... More ever, Maverick is taking a 6 months course with Singapore Bible College..

It's gonna be worst for the next 16 mths at least... cos I am going to take up my bachelor course next week! Finally going to study after 8 years... scary...haha... but yet excited..

I will be taking Bachelor of Communication (Communication Management) in MDIS... Next week onwards, you won't be able to book me liao... you can try asking my hubby out instead.. haha.. this is our schedule.

One good thing that comes from this schedule is... I can't do OT! haha... :p I have to leave my office on the dot, so that I can reach school in time , also to grab my dinner! haha.. maybe I can lose some weights too! :p

Our first Chinese New Year as a married couple~! So many things to take note of... and so many Ang baos to give... really a headache! Hopefully next year we will be able to do it better! ;) Some photos taken while waiting for bus after the first visitation! ;)

KL Trip 5-9th Jan 2009

Hey!

Just got back from KL last Friday night.... Here's an little update of the trip, the photos will be posted in the next post! ;)

5th Jan, we went down to Concorde Hotel's Taxi stand to wait for the coach to pick us up (Luxury Exclusive). It's quite comfortable lah... the seats were quite spacious, with a personal mini TV screen (they turn it on only after we cross the custom), the leg rest can be lifted up one... And best still, only 8 of us in the 29 seaters coach!!! yeah! Got to know a nice lady, Isabel from California, she was traveling on her own! Brave one!

Reached Istana Hotel at about 3.30pm... Checked in, and headed off to shop and have dinner with Isabel. The first shopping mall we "attack" was Lot 10. (Will see if I can get the map) There wasn't much to shop there, all quite expensive.. hehe.. I was looking for a pink dress to wear on William Nah and Theresa's wedding. And then we went out to hunt for food, there's no food court in Lot 10, weird... Ended up in an Indonesia restaurant, had a great dinner!! And we headed back to rest.

6th Jan, we headed out to look for the wholesalers building called Plaza GM, to check out some stuffs for Maverick's parents... It's located at Chow Kit, and it's not that prominent... but still my clever hubby found it! ;)

But after shopping there, we headed back, cos Maverick wasn't feeling good... His throat was "swelling"... And his temperature went up....

We still had dinner at the Jalan Alor food street first, cos he is still able to walk... The food were a bit saltish... when we head back to the hotel, he is starting to feel unwell again.

Through out the night, his fever did not subside even though he has taken 6 panadols in the day! Highest it went was 38.8 degrees, and lowest 37.7.. Had to stay up the night with him, as he was too uncomfortable to sleep. I had to keep changing the towels on his head every 10 mins, cos it's just so hot!

7th Jan, we managed to catch some sleep at around 8am, when his fever went down to 37.7. (Thank God! Don't have to go see the doctor) Isabel called us at 9am, and found out that Maverick wasn't feeling well, she offered to give us her powerful medication, that she has been using. So we agreed to meet her in the afternoon to get the medicine from her. Woke up fully at 9.30am, cos have to catch the breakfast provided by 10.30am.

After breakfast, we asked the securities and managed to find out that there's a Polyclinic just across the street. Back in the room we called our GP back home, to ask if she could give some anti-biotics for Maverick to his mum, as they will be joining us on the 8th... And yes! She agreed..
Maverick was feeling a bit better after breakfast, and we thought can go out walk a bit, should be better for him... So went down to Sungei Wang shopping mall to shop a bit.. but because he still wasn't too well, and I haven't got much sleep... we didn't really see much things. On our way back to the hotel, we met Isabel. We had dinner together at Alor Street, Isabel learnt how to use chopsticks!! There after we headed to shop a bit at the Low Yat and Imbi Plaza before heading back to the hotel, cos we were just too full! When we reached the hotel lounge, we decided to have a cup of coffee before going to bed, and there were some singers performing. They have great voice! Isabel got us the medication she recommended, so that Maverick can try.
After taking it, he did not feel drowsy like she said it would... so still he could not sleep through the night, and the fever was still there... going up and down... but this time it's better... did not hit too high... Then at about 3am, his temperature starts to fall... 37.7 , 37.5 , 37.... and finally back to 36.6 at about 4am.. and he managed to doze off... Thank God!

8th Jan, we slept till 9am as well... Thank God the temperature stayed at 36.6.. so he was more energetic!! Went down to have breakfast, and then thought of going to KL Plaza to shop a bit more before his parents arrive at 3.30pm.

Headed to KL plaza, but only ONE shop was open, as the whole building was going through renovation! Just our luck! Anyway, we decided to shop around, so we went in to StarHill, which have all the Branded Goods, with super STEEP price, just went in to take a few pictures... And then also went to Chulan Square, it's a restaurant "square" with all the food there! We didn't eat there... maverick saw a building behind this Chulan Square and he really likes the structure of the building.

Then we headed in to Pavilion, it's a new shopping mall, with the whole mall of International brands goods! It's quite expensive, though things are nice, decorations are nice. .. we only had lunch there, at a restaurant named: Athena. Good service, but a bit saltish food... keke

We wanted to watch a movie, but did not managed to , as the timing just not right. So we went back to the hotel, to wait for his parents' arrival. (It only takes 5 mins to walk to Pavilion, but we took 30 mins by taking a detour!!!)

At 3.30pm, his parents with an aunt arrived! We took them to the Alor Street (all three were so happy! cos they thought this place have closed). They did not eat much on the coach, fearing that they would vomit. And then to Sungei Wang to shop a bit before his auntie's niece came to pick her up at 6.30pm.

At about 7pm, we went down to Alor street to eat dinner!! And then to Sungei Wang to complete our shopping!! (Maverick got his bags there!) We only managed to head back to the hotel at around 10pm.

9th Jan, our last breakfast before heading back to Singapore. Had breakfast at 9.30am with his parents, and met Isabel at the breakfast place! After breakfast, we checked out and moved our bags to his parents' room. Then we headed down to Plaza GM, so that his parents could get some goods for their shop.

Then we headed to the nearby coffeeshop to have lunch... (same place we went).. The coffee is good~! And we headed back to the hotel with our shoppings!! And of cos , we needed to repack our bags with our shoppings!!

We boarded the coach at 3.30pm, reached Singapore at 9.30pm... Thank God there wasn't any jam!

End of our trip... Missing it...

I just realised that I did not add any photos or comments here for our cell group retreat!! haha.. taken place in October... :p

The Retreat was for 4 days 3 nights at Changi Aloha... but then because we have used up our leave, we can only be there in the nights.. and stayed over only on Friday night, Saturday night we headed home, as Sunday we are both on duty.. So here are some pictures of us in the retreat!

Married life

hmm.. A lot of people have been asking me: "So how's married life?"

So I thought, might as well update you guys here! ;) (Speaking from Noelle's point of view)

Married life , the differences from singlehood... :

1) Having someone next to you the moment you open your eyes in the morning! (But I like that! keke.. :p)

2) Going home to a house that does not have my parents... (misses my dad, but I get to see him on Sat, or as and when I go home.)

3) Having someone's needs to look out for.

4) Having more clothes to iron! haha...

5) Adapting to different living habits... (His and his family's)

6) Adapting to a new environment...

7) Remembering my way home... (Some time I would turn the other direction, to head to my home!)

8) Saturdays and Sundays nights reserved for parents... (So friends, Sat and Sun nights are packed, so if you want to ask me out, try the afternoon slots.. haha.. :p )

9) Having a lot of people asking me "So when are you having kids?" (Hey! I just got married 2 months ago!!! Kids... nay! At least not now!)

That's all for now... more differences.. maybe in future I get to see more.. When our house finally come, maybe I can share more.. hahaha..

Now I am thinking of furthering my studies, but really duno if I can pay for it.. so ex!! haiz.. pray pray!! ;)

Friends, thanks for all the concerns and prayers! We have been good! :) There are times we argue about how things should be, but thankfully we resolved our differences peacefully (most of the time)! ;)

Itinerary for Honeymoon trip!

Think this should come before the photos and all.. well... below is our route..

Day 1: 13th Sept

* Reached Taiwan at around 2pm..

* Boarded the coach, and went down to 渔人码头 (Yu Ren Ma Tou)

But due to the typhoon, we aren't able to get off the coach, so we took photos from the bus, it's a pity... We believed that the place will be a great photo taking sight!

* Then we suppose to head down to 淡水老街（Dan Shui Lao Jie), but when the coach is near that area, all the shops were closed!!!! (who dare to operate on typhoon day?) Thus we did not get off the coach.

* Suppose to go down to 士林夜市(Shi Lin Ye Shi), but the same case, no one operates on a typhoon day... thus we postponed that. Because dinner for the first day is not inclusive, we have to search for any shops that's operating.... so that we can have something.... !!! Our tour guide, superman, found a beef noodle stall, and so we had our dinner there!

Really glad that we joined the tour group and not free and easy, cos in that kind of weather, we won't even know where to find food!!

* We reached the hotel, 活力养生会馆（Alive hotel), at about 7pm.... very early hor?

Thank God that was the first day hotel, cos it's so fantastic!! It has got Herbal Jacuzzi and Suana in the bathroom!!! Thus we enjoyed the night in the bathroom! hahaha....

Day 2: 14th Sept

* Pack up and have breakfast at 6.30am!

* Get ready to head off to 苗栗（Miao Li) area

* We went to 民主纪念馆（Min Zhu Ji Nian Guan). Climbed the 89 steps, breakfast digested! (check out the photos!)

* There after we were off to 莺歌老街（Ying Ge Lao Jie) to have lunch... They are very nice one... after you eat liao, the clay pot they give you!!!! Clay bowl as well!!! (Heavy sia...)

* Off we go to 西湖（Xi Hu) --> Stayed in the hotel 西湖度假村（Xi Hu Du Jia Cun)

* There we have some DIY programmes... Learn how to dye rags and make candles with seashells... Though seems like children's program, but still quite fun lah.. both of us did not pay much attention to tying the knots... so quite ugly looking.. but then.... Maverick's clothe turns out quite nice! (check out the photos of it!)

* After the DIY, we headed to the hotel's restaurant for dinner. The food so so only lah...

* The tour guides and agency very nice... because of the typhoon, we can't go out 赏月 eat mooncake, light lanterns...so they prepared something else for us! They invited a group of dancers to dance for us, think if I don't recall wrongly they are from Russia. And also a Taiwan famous song writer cum singer to perform for us!! After dinner we have KTV session too!

(Sorry Maverick and I did not sing. :p too shy... keke... ) Everything ended around 11 plus...

Day 3: 15th Sept

* Pack up and have breakfast at 7am!

* Breakfast was quite okay... the little restaurant is quite nice.

* After breakfast, we have an additional trip added to our itinerary (complimentary)!!! So nice right? We headed off to 日月潭（Ri Yue Tan).... it's on top of a mountain area.. very windy and nice.. (too bad there was quite a fog, can't really see the scenery, but it's nice lor.. )

On our way to 日月潭 our coach stopped at one of the little "cafe" on the road side, and one of their 槟榔妹 came on board to pass us the coffee and tea!! Tell you... in such cold weather, she actually wears a "Bikini" sort of clothes, with her butts showing off... Really takes my hat off her!!

* There after we have our lunch beside 日月潭! Oh.. before lunch time, we bought some tea leaf eggs to eat... it's so nice!!! Not too strong tea leaf taste as Yu Ren Sheng's neither was it too bland like those in S'pore Pasamalam.. Nice! They have goose egg as well, its HUGE! Some of the tour members tried, they say that it's more egg yolk than white... taste almost the same as normal egg..

* After lunch, we are off to 剑湖山主题乐园（Jian Hu Shan Zhu Ti Le Yuan), our hotel for the night!!

* That hotel is really almost like Disney land! So cute!! Reached there around 2plus, and were told that we can explore the theme park first... there's some water features games and all, so both of us went too.. but did not join in the water games, as both of us aren't really interested to get ourselves wet before dinner.... keke... :P

* The theme park is quite huge, we went on a Ferris Wheel ride! (Yeah, Noelle conquered her fear of heights!) And also went round to shopping at the theme park! Oh.. and we had a little Turkish ice-cream! (Or was it Irish Ice-cream??) whatever... kekeke...

* Then at about 6pm, we were off for dinner at the restaurant at the theme park hotel! Again the food is so-so lah... :p A bit tired of Chinese 7 dish 1 soup meal.. haha...

* After dinner, we had some time a little tour by Superman at the theme park, to view the lights in the park! So nice!!! And also a performance in the "Rainbow Cineplex", some sort of gymnastic show!

* The park also have "Ah Gua" show... called Pala Pala show, but both Maverick and I were too tired... more ever it starts only at 9.30pm. So we opted to visit the coffee museum (took some photos!) after the performance, and then head off to the hotel to sleep. :)

Day 4: 16th Sept
* Again breakfast at 7am, got to wake up at 6.30am to get ready... tired...

* This day is more of traveling day... we headed down to Taipei Train Station, to take the bullet train (2 hours) to 花连 Hua Lian. (It's quite a nice ride! But at times when you look out of the window, you will find it scary... cos it's near the edge of the cliff!)

* All thanks to our coach driver, who drove all the way up with our luggage, we are spared from carrying it onto the train and down again! When we reached Hua Lian, we headed to the Marble factory, it's also where the jade and other gems are processed. One unique thing in Hua Lian; their public pavements are all path with marble!! The town simply have too much marble, and don't know what to do with it!

* After visiting the factory, we went to their shop to look at their products. Its really nice lor.. but a bit ex lah... :p Still we got some stuffs for our parents! :)

* Then dinner at a vegetarian restaurant!! I almost fainted!!! I am a meat eater leh!!! But Maverick was so happy!! Think he took around 3 rounds of food?! haha...

* After dinner, time to check in to the hotel!! BUT.... Our lovely driver and tour guides led us to Hua Lian Night Market!!!!! Finally get to shop a bit of local stuffs and eat their little snacks!!

* Poor me, waited outside the toilet for a little while, I was badly attacked by mosquitoes!!!! 20 over of bites all over my legs and hands!! :'( Really can scratch to death sia!

* Maverick and Superman was playing with the machine that "catches" dolls! And Superman managed to help us "catch" 2 dolls!!!

Day 5: 17th Sept

* Breakfast at 7am again!

* My legs are itching like mad from the bites, thus we went to the nearby 7-11 to get some medication, as Burnol did not works... got their 小护士 medication cream.

* In the morning, we head off to 赏鲸！ Whale watching!! Thank God it was a sunny day!

* When we reached, we were the 2nd boat of the day!! So really hope that we can get to see some whales or else dolphins! Off we went, Maverick and I, together with Superman and another couple, Reann and Wayne were at the front of the boat. It was a bit bumpy, but not too bad, we all had the motion sickness pill already! keke..

* The boat went out to the Pacific Ocean.... Searched for about 1.5hrs, still did not see any whale... We were told that because of the typhoon, the water was a bit dirty and contaminated, thus the whales will not come... if we are lucky we could see some dolphins..

* True enough, didn't have any whales, BUT there were 2 family of dolphins swimming round our boat!!! yeah!!! Really nice!

* We then went on to have lunch at one of the mountain restaurant! It's owned by a man named 多用。。。weird name right? But his food and tea is fantastic!!! That was the nicest meal of all!! Too bad it started raining while we eat, so we couldn't go out to walk around or pick any stones... (which could be a gem!)

* There after, we were suppose to go down to 太鲁阁国家公园(Tai Lu Ge Guo Jia Gong Yuan). But due to the rain, we weren't able to go up to view everything, thus only managed to get to the first rest station of the place, and our coach have to turn out, if not we might not be able to turn out. It was very dangerous for us to go in, as you won't know when will there be rocks falling down onto your head!

* After this, we went down to listen to a talk about Linzhi... And of cos they promote their products and all... And at that point, I realised that I had super bad sunburnt on my face and hands!! haiz...

* And it's time for dinner!! After dinner, we went down to visit the 金身妈祖（Jin Shen Ma Zu), actually I really don't feel too good walking into the temple, but still went in to see see only... Just to see how amazingly huge they craved that idol.

Day 6: 18th Sept
* Early breakfast again!! :S

* This hotel was the worst hotel of all days!! Cos it was so badly affected by the typhoon! Poor thing! - There were only 4 TV channels available, as the cable have been blown down by the typhoon... there were a lot of bugs all over the place due to the flood behind the hotel... there were flood in the hotel the night before we checked in, thus the whole floor smells very bad!! But still livable.. we aren't that pampered! ;)

* Breakfast was okay. :) And actually when we stepped out of the hotel, and took a good look at it, the place actually looks quite nice.

* Today's the last day with our tour guide bringing us everywhere.. tomorrow will be free and easy... so today heading back to Taipei!

* Took the coach down to Taipei 101... not that fantastic... just grand.. but all the stuffs inside are super duper branded one lor.. so all very ex one.. And I ended up going to the Watson at basement of 101, looked for a pharmacist and got recommendation for anti-itch medication.

* After going to such high class place, we must go to some where higher class!! haha.. the 士林官邸花园（Shi Lin Guan Di Hua Yuan)! That's where one of the Governor (I think) lives.. it's quite huge and pretty that place... and our tour group's cute little Wa Wa (娃娃）was enjoying herself, and posing a lot of cute cute poses!!

* When Maverick and I finished our journey, we walked out to wait for the rest together with Superman... and another 2 ladies who have finished as well... SUDDENLY the ladies were screaming!!! There was a BEE chasing after them!!!! And it too started chasing after Superman and me!!! (All because we were in red!!!)

* How scary! But thank God that it did not managed to sting any one of us. When everyone were gathered, we headed off to our next destination~ dinner place!

* Today's dinner was good... a very unique restaurant with lots of pretty sculptures of nude women... (very arty kind) One bad thing... most of the food served were with chillies... :( Sad case, I don't take spicy food!

* Then our very nice Superman, made arrangement with us, to bring us down to 士林夜市 (Shi Lin Ye Shi), cos we have missed it on our first day!! Driver will drop us at the night market and then we will have to find our way back on our own. :)

* We all went! And Superman went an extra mile, to guide us and show us where are the food and shopping area, and how to get back to the hotel.

Day 7: 19th Sept
* Today is Free and Easy! So morning breakfast at 9am!!! hahahaha...

* We met up with 3 other couples, Kevin & Alvina, Wayne & Reann, Joseph & Josephine, to head down for our shopping spree!! (Arranged to meet at 9.30am)

* Our plan is to go down to 西门町(Xi Men Ding)... have lunch at 便所主题餐厅（Bian Suo Zhu Ti Can Ting) ... Then to the 台北地下街(Tai Bei Di Xia Jie)... The other pairs would like to visit 士林夜市 again... (Maverick and I would want to rest.. So we won't join them)

* BUT! Plans did not get through... the shops will only be open at 11am!!! Goodness me! We were too early!

* Thus we walked and walked down to Taipei's train station... and then to 新光三越 hoping that it would be open... but still only one Watson and McDonald's were open... So we went shopping at Watson first...

* Then when it's 11am... we decided to shop at the 台北地下街 first... then head down to 西门町... we ate 阿宗面线（A Zong Mian Xian)... heard that it's nice... but to us, it's so so lor.. (It has big and small pig's intestines... to me it's disgusting!) There after we seperately went shopping, and agree to come back within 2 hours... But again plans didn't carry out... Maverick and I found the Toilet Theme Restaurant, thus we message the rest to ask them to come over... and we had another round of lunch... that one, the food not bad! Interesting looking... haha...

* Maverick and I then decide to head off... we went back to Taipei's train station... the shopping area... as we did not complete it just now.. shopped a bit, had Barista Cafe Coffee.. then got some gifts... then had our dinner at one of the cafe underground! Nice food!!

* As we were heading back to the hotel, we happen to see some small streets... we turned in and started shopping!! haha.. there were some whole salers for toys and small little cute stuffs... very good oh!! keke.. got more gifts there and more little stuff toys for ourselves! :p

* End up reaching hotel at about 10pm!

Day 8: 20th Sept
* 9am breakfast...
* After breakfast, we headed out to the small streets again, to get a bit more stuffs, and another luggage bag! hahaha....
* 12 noon check out... got called by the hotel staffs to check out. :p
* 12.30pm suppose to set off for the airport... Superman came to pick us up...
* 2.30pm get ready to check in the airport ....
(we all forgot to take lunch... so hungry... and when we checked-in to the custom area, we thought there will be food... but the cafe was under renovation!!! Gosh!!! Can only wait till around 5pm for the plane to serve dinner... Only Joseph and Josephine remembered to buy lunch...)
* 4pm on our way home....
* 8pm reached Singapore!

Both of us are back from our trip safe and sound! :)

Typhoon....Day 1-3 (Updated on 23rd Sept 08)

You who are reading our blog must be thinking "Are these two safe and sound in Taiwan?"

We are safe.. Thank God for protecting us. When we were on the plane, there were a lot of turbulences... almost scare Noelle to death! Thank God we landed safely... but then, the weather was really bad... that we basically just travelling and photo taking on the bus... so first day photos are all with droplets of water as surface!

Thus we couldn't go for our "Shi Ling Ye Shi" for dinner, only one store is open... so we took beef noodle...
Then pop by 7-11 for snacks and super... reached hotel at 6pm... and the hotel have sauna and herbal soup tub in the bathroom!!!!! And we really enjoy lor.... then managed to have an early night...

then the second day, still its raining and there's still typhoon.. so still missing a few programme... All outdoor become indoor.. but thankfully managed to pop by some shops for some shoppings! hehe...

Third day, the sun is out!!! Thank GOD!! We had a great time at the theme park... and some other places.. will update you again... (now having supper!!) kekeke....

Flying off to Taiwan (There's updates! 22nd Sept)

Now waiting to board the plane for our honeymoon... Taiwan!!!!! 8 Days 7 Nights tour!!
Excited... but yet on the other hand, both of us are tired... 8am flight, 4am got to wake up to get ready.... now have to wait for an hour before boarding.... *Yawn*

Praying for a safe flight, and also enjoyable one!

We have a long list of pressies to buy! Hope we won't miss out anything... Look forward to our photos and presents!! ;)

The day before the big day

Pi Po Pi Po Pi Po... Heart beating fast....

Last day of singlehood!!!

Though we know we are suppose to rest, but seems like it's not easy.. haha.. early in the morning, Noelle and family starts clearing the house... making sure that everything is in place...

Maverick and mum also busy doing the last bit clearing...

Then in the afternoon, Maverick, Noelle and Shuqin goes down to collect the rental car... and then go for manicure... and then bring the collected gown (yesterday collected it) from Maverick's place to Noelle's.... and some last min shopping for some stuffs....

Only reached home at 6pm... Phew!! Must really sleep early tonight.. die die must sleep by 9pm..

Noelle's dad tried on the jacket.. full dress rehearsal! haha... my shoe and my gown...

Thanksgiving!

A big thanksgiving! God have been really Great!

Last week, both Maverick and I were looking through the dinner tables, trying to see if there's enough tables for all the guests (relatives and helpers only)... we realised that we have ONE Extra table!!!! We booked 26 tables with 2 reserve... and we only need 24.5 tables!!!! We were like... #_#"" "Cham liao!"

Cos if we don't use all the 26 tables, the extra table's food we can only "打包" back... cannot say come back another day to consume it.. How is it possible to eat overnight shark fin?

Anyway, today Maverick's dad called the restaurant manager to discuss.. hoping that he will make an exceptional case, to let us come back another day to eat that one table instead... And guess what? He checked with his boss, and they agreed to let us CANCEL that ONE Table!!!! Aren't God amazing?!!

Though we still have another 0.5 table to settle, but still it's okay.. we can shuffle the guests around.. God is indeed great!!

Praise the Lord!

Last minute changes~

Some times it really makes me (Noelle) wonder why there's so many last minute changes... counting down to our wedding day.. and yet ...

On Wed, 20th Aug, the bridal shop called to say that one of the evening gown cannot be altered to my current size! (Please note, I am 5 inchs thinner).. So sad.. And we have to go down to pick another gown.. (Below is the one that cannot be altered.)

So we made arrangement to go down to the shop on Thurs, 21st Aug, to pick another gown...

Then... Travel agent called on Thursday evening 5.15pm, telling me that the flight we booked, 15th Sept - 21st Sept to Taiwan in SIA, will not be flying!!! And if we would like to change the flight to - 13th Sept-19th Sept Taiwan in China Airline.... :S

Though it's only a 4 hours flight, but still no entertainment... and we have to confirm by 6pm the same day! Ridiculous! haiz.. anyway we decided to change, since it's a day more (free and easy) so it gives us some time to relax and enjoy Taipei. ;) Might not be a bad idea..

So on Thurs, after the last min decision to make the change, we headed down to the bridal shop to pick gown!

Didn't know that after slimming down, I have so many more choices of gowns!!! Think I tried on at least 10 pieces! Shuqin and Maverick were like crazy, pick and pick! Ying Ying and me were trying on like crazy too! We secretly took some pictures of the gowns that I have tried on.. will post the photos when I got it downloaded from Ying's phone~ :)

Got our flat finally!!! After 1/2 a year of balloting.. though not our 1st choice, but still thank God that we have got a house! :)

Less than a month to our wedding day

Wanted to set up this blog before the wedding day, and I have wanted to write down the process of the preparation and all..

But really don't have time to do that.. so many things to get ready, even though we started our preparation 1 year 2 months in advance!

Getting the list of helpers...

Pleasing both fathers' requests...

Finally getting ready for the wedding...

Doesn't seems to be a lot in the list, but yet there are tons of nitty gritty stuffs to look into... e.g. size of the pig, details of the menu, program for the day, what time the make up artist have to arrive, budgeting, getting the guest list confirm, RSVP...

We really thank God that this is a ONCE a lifetime thing! I won't want to do it again! hahaha..

Though it's a happy occasion, and definitely looking forward to it! And glad that both of us are held together by our Heavenly Father! But the marriage is what both of us are more concern than that one day! ;)

Now as we draw closer to our wedding day, we have a lot of anxiety! Cos there are a lot of little things not done yet! Really trying to get things right, and of cos done with.. keke

Anyway, we don't want to short change God of His blessings, thus definitely we want to list down our thanksgiving! :)

1) Thank God for allowing us to select the right date, the first Sat after the chinese 7th month.

2) Thank God that both of us have a great coordinator

3) Thank God for providing us to make this happen

4) Thank God for providing us a roof over our head! (His home for the next 4 yrs, then our own little home)

5) Thank God for allowing us to be able to please both our parents.

6) Thank God for the smoothness of our housing loan with the bank

7) Thank God for the helpers, who avail themselves to help, and blessed us so so so much!

8) Thank God for the caterer and banquet, who are flexible to our changes.

9) Thank God that the bridal studio have everything done nicely for us.

10) Thank God that even though we have lost our budget file, yet we are still able to retreive the old one.. just need to update.

11) Thank God for all the friends who are coming to bless us.

12) Thank God that I (Noelle) managed to lose some weights! hahaha..

Still have a list of prayer requests as well.. haha.. but not going to list it out here lah.. :) My prayer warriors, thank you for all your faithful prayers, without you, we couldn't go this far. :) Thank you!

The Proposal

Hmmm.. an interesting way to propose... This is written by Noelle... Some of you might have read this from my space in MSN Space.. (Sorry copy and pasted. hahaha)

Was tasked to organise 2007 Cell group retreat together with Lili, we were to have the retreat in June if possible... At first it just seems impossible to have it on that month, as many aren't going to be around. Even Lili and myself will be quite busy in the month of June! Then think have it in July bah.. should be better... so came up with some dates for voting.. and then... ... 29th June - 1st July was the most voted date!!!

I was a bit disappointed when we fixed the date.. cos 1st July is my birthday... and again I won't be able to have my little quiet time with God... (though disappointed but not angry or upset.) Thinking that my birthday is going to be busy again.. haiz.. I know that my Cell group members will celebrate for me, just like the years before.. (They are really the BEST!!) but still my quiet time with God will have to be postpone, which is not what I like to do...

Thankfully, before the trip, I went to Shanghai with Maverick, Kam Wan and Veron.. This trip allows me to slow down and really rest in God! So the retreat wasn't too taxing to my mental health! haha..

Then comes Friday, 29th June! Because I have to work, so only managed to go down to the retreat site after work... lagged all my lagguage to work! haha.. So Friday evening , just to be there and have dinner and a getting to know session.. The next day, Saturday, was filled with more activities... we ended at about 11pm, the official bed time, but of cos in a retreat no one goes to bed early!!
So all of the gals gathered round on one of the bed (made up of two bed side by side), and discussed about Wai yee's wedding, how we could help and what needs to be done... also gave some tips to Stephanie Chew!! Guess what? I am Steph's church wedding coordinator! So excited! But also a bit scared.. cos no experience, hope that I won't mess up. :p Will have to engage a lot of 老将s' help! haha.. Also ended up as Serena's PA (Personal Assistant)!! haha.. was jokingly asking when did I get employed as her assistant? kekeke... It's an honor to me, that there's someone who trust me to take note for her on events! (She actually trusts that I won't forget! Thanks Serena for having so much faith in me.) We had real great fun talking and joking about Weddings! Some how felt that we are getting old.. haha... Used to talk about boys when girls gather round like this, but now we are talking about marriage!! Gosh!

Then as the clock strike Midnight, the lights in the dorm went off!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.................... Who is that!???

In comes a birthday cake with one candle... and everybody sang "Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you..."... Some one's tears fell.. touched by the surprise action of her lovely CG members. (I forgot that it's my birthday totally! Cos I was enjoying myself so much.) But the best have yet to come!! After the song ended, lights turned on, and out jumps three brothers with 2 roses in each hands singing "我爱你，爱着你，就象Maverick爱淑君"!! When they finished, the other side of the bed, out jumped Maverick with one rose in his mouth and one rose in each hands dancing around!! HAHAHA.. I laughed till I cried!! Goodness me! How creative they can be!!! Really very touched by all their actions, making this day so special for me! Then we proceed to have the cake and sparkling juice!!

After eating and clearing up, most headed back to the dorms. I stayed behind to talk to some sisters.. Catching up a little on each other's lives.. hehe.. Only talked for about 10-15 minutes, then we head back as well.

At the door of our dorm, Lili asked me to step out for a while... I, bare-footed (took out slippers to go in dorm), went to one corner with her.

Our conversation:
Lili: Your angel have something for you, but it's in the playground, you have to find it yourself.

(Our CG was playing "Angel and Mortal" game, where Angels give encouragements to their Mortals secretly)

Me: HUH!! Playground, what a place! So dark and have to wear slippers now.. haiz..

Lili: *Smile*

Me: Okay, lets go...

Lili: Be careful hor, heard there's snakes in the playground.

Me: *wide eyes* HUH!! Okay.

Reached the top (playground on level 1, dorm on b1), guess what, I tripped! haiz.. as usual.

Me: Playground so big how to find?

Lili: Look carefully.

Saw something flashing in a concrete crocodile mouth..

Me: Think it's a timer for the lights here..

Lili: Look carefully

Bended down to take a closer look... and when I took out that "Box" it have these words flashing..

"Will you marry me?"

With wide eyes filled with tears, I stood there smiling... and Maverick with Simon came out from the other side of the playground, Simon with a video cam and Maverick with a box.

Maverick kneeled down in front of me and asked: "Will you marry me?"

All I can managed was a smile and a nod.

He asked: "Can I stand up now?" haha....

I nodded, and he stood up, gave me a kiss and hug.

It's not a proposal that he kneeled down in front of everyone on the street/restaurant, not a big fuss thing that he'll have spent thousands of dollars ... but it's a proposal that touches me!! Cos he remembers that I don't want to have it public, and he puts in efforts to make sure that I did not detect that he is going to propose. (A real surprise!) Most of all, a day that I will remember for life! :)
